Well, I have four e30’s and I’m downsizing to just one, and this is the first one I’ve gotten ready for sale. A 1987 325e sedan, the odometer says 76,525 but is broken and I don’t know how long it’s been broken. It has not been driven very much during my ownership. I had every intention to just pull the m20 for an m50 swap or something similar but I will be moving and would also just prefer to focus all of my efforts on one e30. It is a running and driving car, details below! It runs and drives, but when stopping the brake pedal is soft. The “cold start injector” appears to be bad, so when it’s cold it takes a long time to fire but after it’s warm it starts immediately (getting more common these days) It seems to have a misfire in one cylinder, but idles surprisingly smooth despite that. It is likely something very simple but I do not have any more time to pursue a possible cause or do any further maintenance so I consider this a “project” and should likely be towed home (I may be able to deliver after purchase, that can be worked out later). The shocks feel good, power steering is disabled (not sure why) and it feels as though either a strut mount or ball joint has a little play in the front. The transmission shifts smoothly and there are no noises coming from the drivetrain. The body is in decent shape but has some rust like most northeast e30’s, however it is less than most i have seen. The entire car has been repainted at some point, and it does not appear to have been a cheap respray because it was many years ago and is holding up well. The rust is mostly in the very common battery tray area, and one small hole in the drivers side rocker panel. The floorpans are very intact and completely devoid of any holes, and all 4 shock towers are in great shape as well as the lower part of the front wheel wells, the roof, and the tail panel. Not all that much rust repair to do here. The car seems to have sustained a passenger side rear quarter panel side swipe at some point and looks to have been repaired and repainted at the same time. The interior is in decent condition but as you can see the seats themselves do not match the rest, that’s how I got it. The headliner is in good shape, there are no leaks in the interior, all readings on the gauge cluster work other than the odometer, and the speakers work. The passenger side rear is the only window that works, however I have not even tested to see if it’s just bad switches which is always possible with these cars. It’s a manual crank sunroof car except the crank handle is missing. New parts Brand new spark plugs New spark plug wires New distributor cap and rotor New in tank fuel lift pump Recent exhaust repair Just performed a complete 1 step paint correction and sealed afterwards All in all this would make for a fun project, it could just have some maintenance and repair and be a cruiser/daily or would also be a good candidate for an engine swap/track project. I’m asking $3500 and that price is firm, if you’d like to come out and take a look feel free to call, text, or email me! I am located in Atglen Pennsylvania. 4846436612
